Or L'Simcha ("From Light to Joy") is an unaffiliated, traditional and egalitarian congregation based in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood. We welcome you to join us Shabbat mornings at our home on the third floor of the Anathan House at 1620 Murray Avenue starting at 9:45 a.m.; our services include specialized programming for toddlers through pre teens beginning at 10:45 a.m.

We also offer frequent and spirited family events and classes. Information about Shabbat Programming and other Upcoming Events are available online. We also have a Photo Album that features some of our previous activities.

If you have any questions about our schul (or suggestions for this web site), please don't hesitate to contact Rabbi Chuck Diamond or Judy Wein.

Please join us for services each week on the 3rd floor of the Anathan House at 1620 Murray Ave. in Sq. Hill. Shabbat Services start this Shabbat at 9:30am.

Thanks to those who have supported our Family School and the JNF thru the purchase of Trees in our Family School Garden.

The Karp's and the Chajson's generosity is greatly appreciated. Our new Aron Kodesh provides a fitting home for our Torahs.

Ko Hakavod to Judy Wein, Deb Myers, Suzanne Schreiber and Abby Schachter for their hard work in getting the Children's Torah project off the ground. We also appreciate the input from our Board of Directors!

Refuah Shleimah to Bobby Chajson, Mickey Solomon, Jael Greenleaf, Terrell Tibb and Paul Pretter.

The Family School

Our Family School is a special experience for children and parents alike. Under the nurturing direction of Rabbi Chuck our Family School encourages and fosters a love for Jewish values and study. We offer programming for Kindergarten thru 7th grade.

OR L'SIMCHA IS ACCESSIBLE TO ALL!

We love our new home. It is in a wonderful location and even though we are in the Penthouse (the third floor) of the Anathan House we are accessible to all. There is a ramp on the side of the building which will lead you onto the back porch and thru the kitchen to the elevator. Once on the third floor there is plenty of room to maneuver and we are equipped with two handicap accessible restrooms. We hope that everyone will feel comfortable to join us.

THE CHILDREN'S TORAH PROJECT

There are many ways to get involved in our Children's Torah Project. All proceeds from the Children's Torah project will be used to enhance the Jewish experience of our young people!
